if you rebuild the engine and put in a super 20G you can get up to 500 hp with drag times of 9 secs if you got the money for it. check the "Hahn Racecraft" website and look at the staged kits.

Re: How much horsepower is the 420A Capable of with the right stuff?
Well, first off, are you going turbo or not? If you are going turbo then you can make it very powerfull but it's not going to be an easy road. I'd rebuild the entire engine with stronger, better stuff like the internals, fuel management system, blah, blah, blah. Then you get your turbo, which through HahnRaceCraft will cost you around $2,500 for stage 2 if I remember correctly. This will net you around 200hp. Then you buy a boost controller. You'll also need upgraded brakes to handle the extra power. I suppose after all of this, yes, the 420a could be just as powerfull as a modded 4g63, though I doubt just as efficent. Once all of this is said & done, you're looking at around $6,500, which if put into a 4g63 turbo dsm would yeild much higher results. Sad fact is the 420a was never intended to be turbocharged so it will take alot of work to get it running right. Best of luck.
