compact disc changer

Have a 2001 4.0 and would like to add the cd changer to my car. It does not have the Bose speaker option. Does anyone know what is involved, is the cable to the trunk already there and any other things that I should know. Also a place to buy the unit, got a price of 343.76 from the dealer, probably w/o the bracket

Thanks for the offer, but they seem to be very specific for each year. The dealer told me that the one for the 2001 fit the 2003 Pont Bonv., 02 LeSaber and the 01 to 03 Aurora. Is your from any of these years

Thanks, but only the ones that I listed will work with the radio. Think it has to do with the OnStar.

Compact Disc Player, 2001

A while back I posted a question about retrofitting a 12 disc player into my 2001. Well I finally acquired one form a wreck, with the bracket. I have not been able to find the connector in the truck to wire it in, I have mounted the unit in the factory position. Is it possible that the car is not wired from the factory? The car has almost all of the other options. Did the CD changer only come with the BOSE unit, which mine doesn't have? HELP, is it possible to wire it in myself?

Re: Compact Disc Player, 2001

I think it was an option for the Bose system only.

Re: Re: Compact Disc Player, 2001

My 99 doesn't have the Bose system but it does have the cable running into the trunk. I had to look for it to find it tucked behind the gray trunk liner. I got a changer for $75.00 that the dealer said isn't the part number it calls for. Works like a charm It laid in my trunk till the factory brackets and trunk liner part came in and only skipped once.
