Anyone got problems with front tires wearing off early?
If so post them up here about your car and how many miles they lasted and how they fixed it.

Nope tires are wearing ok..........this even after I whacked a rim on the interstate last winter on the way to Florida.
However, the stock uniroyls suck in snow. But the rest of the rig is a tank and zuki makes a great little suv.

There have been a couple complaints about tire wear on the Grand Vitara, Not so much on the 2dr though. They were saying to adjust the camber +/-2 from the factory specs and it fixes the prob.

Main problem is the factory cant set up enough camber. You need to slot the holes in the front struts slightly to give more. Where the struts bolt to the front hubs you grind the top hole outwards and the bottom hole inwards. Put a heavy flat washer behind the blot and nut and give the vehicle a wheel alignment.
Try that. |

You may want to consider checking the front wheel bearings. The wheel bearings should be adjustable so it isn't going to cost much to fix the problem.

Re: Anyone got problems with front tires wearing off early?
Uneven tyre wear is common on Vitaras;dig a little deeper on the internet and you'll find many complaints about this problem.
These vehicles fall way short of their perceived image as a supposedly reliable fun-car! Reliability generally is suspect and parts are expensive compared to the somewhat better competition from Honda and Toyota. And no I don't work for Honda or Toyota, but do have practical experience of the pitfalls of owning a Suzuki Grand Vitara! Take heed and save yourself a lot of stress and money! |

Re: Anyone got problems with front tires wearing off early?
won't the practice of rotating your tires in a modified-cross pattern, front to back, will help?
i know in other vehicles where FWD is predominant, the fronts wear out way faster than the rears... because most of the weight is on the fronts (engine) and steering will make the edges wear them out faster... i rotate my tires every 6 months as well as other PM checks i do... |
