n/a tune for LOW and MID range torque?
Is there anything you can do to n/a tune for more low and mid range torque?
Ok, so CAI's like AEM and 421 headers try to take advantage of tuning to the frequency (usually high RPM) to help move or scavenge the air. Whenever I look at the dynos, you can see the hump (improvement) but you also see the dip caused by the RPM range that is OUT of phase with the resonance of the tune. All the n/a stuff is tuned for high RPM improvements (understandably, especially for racing applications). What kind of n/a stuff can I do to improve the low and midrange? Is there anything? New pistons/crank/cams for higher compression ratio? Is there exhaust tuned for the low/mid range? |

I thought generally 4-2-1 headers were better for low end and 4-1 headers were better for top end...

well a 4-2-1 is a little better for mid range but not low range... I would suggest u get a( if its vtec) Vtec controller and some cam gears and aem pulleys.. if its not ur pretty much SOL... unless u want to add nitrous oxide and go WOT then inject in like 3rd gear...
- KA A.. im only 14 but i kno my Sh** |

nitrous creates a lot of torque. dont be fast and furious and use nitrous in 3rd or 5th gear or whatever. when you race, you use nitrous through every gear if you can hook up. If you ever look at a dyno graph of a spraying vehicle, you will notice it creates massive low end torque.
other than nitrous, you might try getting a V6 or V8 car. 4 cylinders arent known for torque. |
