cutting plexiglass

kind of off topic but neone kno wat kinda tools i need to cut plexiglass? ive never worked with it before and am wondering how to cut it/mount it without cracking it. im gonna be mounting my amps in the spare tire well, then covering it with the plexi, then lighting it with neons and putting small cooling fans in. thanks.

Re: cutting plexiglass

rotozips work well, but if you dont have one, a dremel with a cutting bit works just as good

put duct tape where you are going to cut and then draw your lines on the tape. and cut slow or the blade will heat up and melt the glass insted of cutting it

Shank your Shard, Baby!

Shards of plexiglass are very popular as shanks in the state prison. They are still deadly, and they don't set off metal detectors.
Just some information, y'all.

very simple..

tape off or draw the line you want to cut on. then score it with a box cutter, the deeper the better. Then, place the cut like over the edge of a table or something, and snap it. Unless the plexi is super thick, it will break cleanly along the scored line.

have fun..

buy the little tool for it... like someone said earlier its like a little hook deal that you drag over and over again till you can snap the plessiglass down the seam it made... works the best of all the above ideas (trust me lol) you can get them at like home depot right around in the section where they sell the plexiglass... costs like 5 bucks or less maybe
