In Progess: 02 Corvette C5-R 50th Anniversary

This paint scheme was raced at Petite LeMans here in Atlanta last year.
It took first in GTS class with a spectacular pass of the Ferrari on the LAST lap!

I've been building this at the same time as the 1999 C5-R. The interiors are identical in most repects.

The decals are custom printed not by me.

This car will get Scale Motorsports Etching details all over the exterior.
It's about 80% done now.

Enjoy! Comments welcome.

Awesome,

You really like those vettes.

It would be cool to see some picts. of the white nose one.
That looks awesome too.

Looks great so far. What are you going to use for the Class(GTS) L.E.D.'s on the sides of the car which i see you accurately drilled the holes for?

They were printed by a guy that makes a lot of 1/43 scale cars. I found that he had created decals for 3 C5-R versions. He was nice enough to sell me a couple sets.
He's a great builder with his own site found here:

I'm not really sure yet. The top hole is for the fuel inlet, and I have photo-etched pieces for that. I will probably find some green glass or plastic to put in there. I'm not going to put a working LED in there I know. Although I thought about it. I'm only filling the top light as this was the first place car.

Are you using the Scale Motorsport carbon decal set to go with that?

Almost done! And just in time for this years Petite LeMans.

I can't hardly wait to see if the vettes show up in another unique paint scheme this year. I almost hope not. I can't hardly keep up with building all the different versions.

Some minor touch up, mounting the wing, headlights and finishing attaching the photo-etched details. Some are on. It's kinda hard to see but the spoiler on the back of the car, and the aluminum strip on the back of the wing are attachedd. There are tons of pieces in the Scale Motorsports photo-etched set. They are taking longer than I thought they would.
