Going to Look at a Celica, got a few ques...

Hi,

Hopefully this weekend I am going to look at a 88 Toyota Celica GT.
Its a 5 spd, 146k miles, but he only wants 800 for it.
Says the car runs good but he has a few small scratches where a car hit him in the parking lot.
Anyways I found the specs on it and they come stock with
115 hp with around 120lbs of torque.
I dont mind the specs because my civic I have now has only 92hp.
Anyways andbody ever own the 4th gen Celicas?
I searched everywhere and I can seem to find 1/4 mile times on the GT celica.
Thanks

800 isnt much for the car. If its in good running order, you’ll be pretty happy with it.

Given the cars age and that you’re not paying much for it, I wouldn’t be driving with a lead foot if I were you. I couldn’t find any stock times, but here’s one with some mods in it getting down to 14.9 http://www.cardomain.com/id/krazytrd

Heres a real old link right back to the early days of AF http://www.automotiveforums.com/t109142.html
