Anything will backfire to some extent with a prodominatly straight through exhaust on it... mine has always backfired on the overrun since i did the exhaust. The backfires are noticably bigger with the new cams tho...

Re: Back Fire

Yep I've gotten some boomers out of the GTR along with huge flame outs. I've been told some as long as a meter out the pipe. I've actually felt the blast many times through the driver's seat hahaha.

I get many flames - my catalytic converter seems to ah, have some sort of flow restriction polarizing 3" pipe problem. Must get that looked into

None of this sparkplug in the muffler Hollywood crap.

Pops all the time (sounds tough) but when it's been running for a while (ie: warm), will ignite. Happens every day - scares people. I like it. 2nd to 3rd at 6500rpm is always a sure-fire (no pun intended) winner.

Here's a sequence when doing a dyno run at AutoSalon.
Sorry for you modem users - but a nice hi-res picture of it on the dyno with 'afterburner' also.

Enjoy
