Trying to choose

I was wondering if anyone could give me some help. I am looking into selling my Dodge Durango that i have now and look into getting into a BMW or an Audi. I would love to get into an m class beamer or and s class audi but i just do not have those kinds of funds. So i have come down to the audi a4 18t or the 2.8. for the beamers i would be looking in any of their three series. i want performance, performance, performance, and the all wheel drive is quite a nice feature. i am looking for years from 1997 to about 2000. please give me some information on which one is the best out of the box and then putting some MINOR mods into it. thank you

i'm pretty sure you could find a 97 M3 or S4 in your price range..
just have to keep lookin..
otherwise i would go with a 2000 A4 1.8T Quattro...
i just purchased one myself, althought it's not the fastest car in the world it's got nice tq, and with just a few mods you'll be flyin in no time.. i.e. a $500 chip that adds 40hp, 45tq... not too bad huh...

just bought a 99 A4 Q with 2.8/5spd for about 14K. you can find them out there. just keep looking. I'm not fond of 4cyl w/turbo and like the feel of the v-6. drive them all and see what you like.

Thumbs up Great deal on mine

I just bought a 98 1.8T Quattro for 9,000. I got it at the price becuase it was my boss. Anyway I'm 17 and its my first car so I really can't compare it too anything else, but I will say this. The 1.8T is very nice on the inside, every feature that you need. Killer body, unique style b/c not too many Audi drivers out there compared to VW's or Honda's. Now the 1.8T Quattro does lack one thing, off the line power. Once you get into the 2k range the car just runs away. I think it's due to a major turbo lag in the car, but more high end . Engine wise the Audi 1.8T stock could never compete with a BMW, just b/c BMW gets more power from the V6. Both cars a great looking, outside and in. Either way bro, both cars will be a chic magnet . If you do buy an A4 1.8T make sure you check the mileage and ask the owner when they got the timing belt changed, 98 A4's are known to pop a belt at 60k. Anyway good luck with your car, which ever you buy. And if you have more questions about the 1.8T just email me or instant msg me.
