88-91 DX/LX/EX/Si heads are all the same with differnt cam for the d16a6 vs d15b2. the ports are identical, the valves are identical.
I have found a quick upgrade for any 16 valve non vtec honda.. a D16Y7 head from a 96-00 civic DX/LX. it is essentially the same head (16v non vtec), but with a differnt casting (plugs on the front like d16z6/d16y8) and the valves in the y7 head are the same size as the D16Z6 vtec head. why bother to buy larger "racing" valves when you can slap a y7 head on for hardly nothing, since they are often thrown away for a mini-me conversion |
