Hello all.
I have a 93 ford taurus wagon 3.8 not sure of tranny(Auto). My problem is, starting off in 1st is fine but it revs going into 2nd. If I take my foot off the gas it goes into 2nd and everything else is fine. Just had it rebuilt 6 months ago. It happened 2 weeks ago for 1 day then didnt happen again til yesterday. Im thinking speed sensor but Im not a tranny pro. Any input would be well appreciated......thanks, Rod |

Take it back to the shop and have them check it. Sounds like it's hanging up on the 1-2 shift; due to an issue in either the valve body or the solenoids if it's the AXOD-E.
Make sure to ask them if it's the AXOD or the AXOD-E, and if it's the -E then did they install the lube tube upgrade? (Swapping 2 of the internal oil tube lines). If it's the AXOD, there may be a governor issue, but I'd doubt it. Trouble is I haven't seen the car - but the shop guys should know. These trannies are finicky as all get-out, and if that's the only thing to crop up after they rebuilt it they must have done a D@!mn fine job! |
