I like the car a lot. The color is a bit wild, but it's fitting for the car if you can tolerate it. I'm not a fan of all the crap that has been installed. Not because it would slow the car down, just because it's supposed to be a driver's car, not a rolling toy.

How does that 1.35 price compare to the asking price for #007?? Personally, I would rather have that car sans all the toys. Dan is probably trying to recoup a lot of the cost of his car being refitted by the factory along with the additional toys, and if the paint isn't really your thing and the toys don't impress you then why bother paying for them?

Franks car is cheaper, but dans car has some work done to it that we would do like the a/c. Yeah it does have a bunch of stuff done to it but it can always be taken out. You may not know but if you want to get an upgraded a/c its alot more for it to be done to early model cars such as franks.

Here is all the stuff that has been added to the car:

One of a Kind Orange Kandy Paint
Xenon Lights
CDMA & GSM Phone
Black & Orange Interior
Carbon Fiber Kick Plates & Doorpulls
3 way Intercom with Headsets
World Wide Navigation System
Front & Rear Radar Detector
2 way Radio
Wide Screen Video Monitor
Custom Matched Luggage
Noise Canceling Headsets
100GB MP3 System (20K+ songs)
Color Matched Engine
Removable F1 Steering Wheel
Upgraded A/C
Wide view racing mirrors
Matching Orange Tool Chest
Oversized Radiator & Fans Front & Rear Radar Detector

The things that we would take out would be the Mp3 system just put in a radio, Headsets, 2 way radio, Intercom, and the CDMA & GSM Phone. The other things i think are pretty useful.

it's a bit overpriced
please do realize that the car has had some accidents, i remember hearing a story of it being driven by someone else than dan himself, it was crashed, the whole front was crushed, although i think there wasn't any structural chassis damage, i'd say this
take a reasonable price for a mclaren let's say, about 950k dollars
i think that is market value right now
add the homologation costs, about 200k, but it devaluates, so it's 175k or something
then the extra's, about 100k, so you're on 1220k dollars
but i heard something of a rebuilt, that it had been done, so it may be a bit more than 1225, maybe 1.27m (fuel tanks?????)
but you can start with offering 1.2, i think that is reasonable for a us spec mclaren

Kennedy's car

Jomo,
Kennedy's car has not been wrecked. Also in terms of being driven hard... I would contest that. I am very familiar with this car and the owner. If you mean that a car such as the McLaren being driven in a spiritted way to enjoy the car, then yes. If you mean has the car been driven in a way so as to abuse it in any way, no. I assure you the car has been cared for quite carefully. Refer to my last post on the "mclaren4sale" thread. I went to some detail to verify the condition of the car as it had been called to question there.

As further verification, I have a call in to the owner to verify my statements just to be sure.

i remember seeing a thread on another forum that someguy i know wanted me to see. he gave me a link, i clicked and saw a thread about some guy who is a friend of Kennedys sister in law (or something like that) that went to see Kennedys garage and a ride in his F1. he took pictures and he talked about the car. in it remember reading a passage about Kennedy telling this guy that Fittipaldi once drove his F1 and that he messed up his transmission. then he went on to say that he replaced it or got it fixed.

so far thats the only damage i know of to DKs car.

.

Well its not that big of a deal transmission gets messed, b/c usually when the car is redone the tranmission is usually taken out and a new one is put in.

McLaren Condition

I received a call just a short bit ago with a response to my question to the previous statement of whether the car had been previously wrecked. The answer was an emphatic "No". It has not been wrecked in any fashion or received damage to any body extremity. As I previously mentioned in the "mclaren4sale" thread, the nose has indeed been resprayed to bring the car up to pristine condition. The car is currently being shown for a special reason, that I cannot afford any addition detail. The reason has public interest in mind. Once I am able, I will share more detail.

Suffice to say, the car is very nice. I have the possibility of personally inspecting the car yet again i the near future if I so choose and considering my availability.

I cannot mention specific cars, but there are several other cars that you gentlemen are aware of and have discussed here that are of far less quality than Kennedy's car. In short, it is a driven car, but also well cared for. I can find no fault in that. The quality speaks volumes about the owner. That cannot be said of every McLaren owner out there. Not to call to question the character of the owner, but only the importance they place on the care and maintenance of the car.

Sorry, my 2.5 cents. Keep the change.
