engine swap need help

Hi im trying to swithch my 92 camaroRS 305 TBI out for a 350 out of a 93 Caprice interceptor im trying to find out what all would be involved in order to do this all help is appreciated. thanks Jess

The physical engine will go very easily in place of the 305. Unless you are going to keep the TBI system from the 305 (I don't recommend this), you will need to wire harness (under hood and interior) and the ECU. It is just simply a direct plug-in to change over and you will spend a couple of hours routing the wire harness through the dashboard.

The good news is that all of the accessories from the 1993 350 will fit the 1992 305, including: transmission, flywheel, exhaust manifolds, alternator, a/c compressor, water pump, and power steering pump.

Just make sure the engine is not a 1994+ LT1. If so the LT1 is stronger, but it has a reverse flow cooling system, which means you will have to keep the pulleys and brackets from the LTI, and you WILL have to change the computer...it is worth the extra trouble if you can get your hands on the LT1 though.
