im curious, are these cars built on the same chassis as the olds. aurora?

No. The GP shares platforms with the other W-bodies: Regal, Century, Intrigue and Monte Carlo as well as the now historical Cutlass Supreme and Lumina.
The Aurora is a G-body and has a platform once shared with the Riviera.
