personal stereo security

My last system I was pretty careless about security wise, I had an alarm from Alpine so I didn't worry about theft that much, I simply had a 12"sub w/box laying in my trunk with the amp screwed to the seat, well couple months ago I had $1500 worth of stuff jacked.

So for you guys with systems out there, what kinda extra security measures do you take for security of your system?
A friend said something about relocating the alarm buzzer in a more hidden location so the wires couldn't be cut, as well as a backup mini battery if they cut the car battery wire. Or bolt somehow the box into the car frame, these are just a couple examples, you guys got anything?

i always take my faceplate off, even if i go in the store for like 2 mins.
if i know the hood isnt the greatest i turn the system down so it isnt heard

dont have the amp attached to the box (duh )
and pretty much everything you said

oh and dont leave your window or windows down, cause even if you are gone a few mins shit will get jacked, my friend had his window down and he left for like 2 mins and they jacked his shit

Alrighty. WHat you need is to get a DEI alarm with the 2-way remote. It doesn't matter if you buy a Viper,SIdewinder, Python, or Hornet. The level of security is the same. Just some might have more features than others that you might not even need or be able to use. Then make sure that all the door triggers work. Get a back up battery siren and prox. sensor. This will be pretty hard for the normal punk.

THEN get your new stereo stuff. Why not get this first? Well, theives know that most people will go out an get new sounds within a month. Those people usually run out of money for an alarm. Well, the thieves realize this and will be back to check on things!

Anyway, make sure that you have things professionally done like not mounting everything together then throwing it into the car. Stealth is the way to go and can be easily done. Although if you drive around letting everyone hear it, they'll just follow you home or to work so they can go to work

Hey, I already said that. Besides, stealth alone will not work. If they hear you comming down the street they just follow you. Then when you are either at work or home, they go for it.
