redline

I'll be acquiring a 2nd gen gsr in a couple months and i'm wondering if anyone can tell me what it's actual redline is. The tach says 6800, but other sources tell that peak torque and hp are at 7000 and 7600, and it supposedly redlines at 8000. So if anyone knows for sure, I'd appreciate your input. I don't wanna find out the hard way, if you know what I mean. Thanks.

p.s. does anyone with this car know if th tach just comes that way and how can i find out whether or not it's the b17 or sumthin else.
