Re: need help - just bought and needs fuel injector

If it's just like the other injectors then it will fit. No, they aren't that hard to put in.... just take your time.

I'm guessing you haven't done this before so here's the procedure for doing it:

First, make sure your using a brand new o-ring on the injector before you install it. this will save you from doing the whole thing over when you find out you have a leak later on.

1. Relieve the fuel system pressure.
2. Disconnect throttle cable and cruise control cable if you have one from throttle body. (these will be in the way later on if you skip this step)
3. Remove throttle cable bracket from intake manifold.
4. disconnect the injector harnesses. (all 4 of them)
5. Disconnect the fuel feed and return hoses. Expect some fuel to come out here so make sure to put that cigarette out while doing this. Also I'd cap the end of these hoses so nothing gets into them.
6. Disconnect vacuum line from fuel pressure regulator.
7. Remove fuel rail retaining bolts.
8. Remove fuel rail and injectors from the intake manifold.
9. Remove the injector cap.
10. Slightly twist the injector to loosen it in the rail and then pull it out. If the injector is jammed into the fuel rail then just pull harder... Since your getting rid of the old injector anyways then use any method you can think of to get it out if it's stuck.

Installation:
Reverse of removal. Be sure to pressurize the fuel system after you get the injector in and hook everything up.
