have you ever been able to burn out? from your username, it looks like you have an HF and those only have about 62hp and hardly any torque, so that could be your problem. If you have been able to before, check the clutch cable. Try loosening and see if that helps, it not, tighten it a little bit.

Is the clutch broke in? they say your supposed to break them in before you go all out on them. Do you have a HF trans still? If so Im telling you that the low ass final drive will not help a torque less 4cyl engine.

Yes there should be about a 1/2" of clutch pedal free play. Edit: If your tires don't spin, why do you need to "peel-out" or burn-out? The whole point of a burn-out is to heat the tires to prevent wheel spin. Last edited by jackasssi; 10-06-2003 at 12:49 AM. |

Before I did stuff to my STD, the only way it would peel out was if I floored in and dropped the clutch.
And even then it would only peel out for about a second then start going again. |

did anyone else catch he lost cuz he didnt peel out? when you peel out you dont have good traction you dont want to peel out in a race youll just spin
and if you have an hf.....well your not gonna win many races, switch to an 16v head if you want some more power

Sounds like the clutch is slipping (right) if it is you need to adjust the cable out more than it is.
