Il/Legal Taillights....

Ok, If you have aset of all clear tails and spray the brake section red, but leave the corner claer, can I put an orange bulb in there and it be ok? If so, does anyone know what type of bulb it is?

depends on your state.

i bought redcivicracer's clears that were painted

you can't put orange but a red bulb in there. i will forewarn you i still got pulled over. cops said the bulb didn't put out enough red. so i got a white (clear) bulb. pulled over again. now it's because no white light may glow except for reverse lights. cops said the bulb was lighting up the clear part as well.

currently the tails are in pieces. when i get some time the plan is to make it so only the red can omitt light. to be honest i'm not sure if i'm going to cover/ paint that (interior side of lense) area or devise a divider within the light assembly

yes you can do that and you CAN use an orange bulb for the turn signal. Red OR orange will do. I would recommend that you paint the whole clear tails red, that way you wont have to deal with switchin bulbs and all.

any kind of clear bulb will get you pulled over these days, play it safe and either do what Ami did with the divider in the light housing or get a pair of altezzas that have the colored circles and the reflectors, at leats you wont get pulled over as much then.

Mine are legal, my red bulbs work great, try the led bulbs on ebay they are supposed to be red'er and brighter than stock lens's

it really depends on your state. i tried the LED's back when i had just plain clears. got pulled over for those too. i figured the red/clears would pass for sure.

I would get some altezza but i have a 4d so thats out. I thought about the all red deal, but i want something different looking. i was gonna do my own lil spray design and then just put in a colored bulb. Anyone know the bulb #?

1157 is a dual fillament (brake, running lights) and the 1156 is single and is for the turn signals.

how red they are isnt really showin up in the pics, but they are bright red, i got them from a company called jamstrait
the outter lights are my turn signals

they were plenty bright at night. a cop almost rear ended me because he said he couldn't see them light up during the day. he saw my 3rd brake light at the last second and slammed on the brakes.

i have to wonder if they just like to harass over lights in oregon since they can't bitch about anything else. all i have been pulled over for since i've been here are my damn tails (doh!)

oooo sexy! When i had LEDS in my old taillights, they were very bright in the night, BUT in the day, they were mere little dots that really didnt light up the housing, never got pulled over during the day though...but good luck on makeing them real half red/clears!
