Question starting

Have 94 Lumina Z34. when i go to start the car about 80% of the time it does not start on the first try, i still hear the clicking of the starting, but it does not start. But ill just sit there and keep trying to start the car and it usually starts after the 5-6 time turning the key. Any suggestions?

Well, as i said in another post, I had a similar problem in my 95 lumina. If you have the little chip on your key, this is probobly the source of your grief. You should first, make sure the key is clean. If you still have a problem, buy some canned air, and spray it in the key hole for 10 seconds. If that doesn't work, and it isn't really humid out (sometimes with it being humid, it doesn't work), then you have a problem with the device that reads the chip. A security light will stay on while u are driving if the device is malfunctioning. I hope i helped.

Re: starting

If you can hear the starter click than most likely you have a bad starter or a battery problem (might not be a bad battery but a corroded cable)

That is what my dad thought when it happened to our lumina. If it happens to u, definatly look for the security light.
