H22 Swap

I'm planning to buy a 1995 CX hatch and i want to put in an H22. Is that a hard swap? I've been told that I'll have to cut the firewall and move it back because the engine bay is too small, but hasport sells mounts for the swap. And how much could I expect to pay to have a reputable shop do the swap? Any help would be greately appreciated.

the motor will swap in with mounts from HASport. A shop will probably charge you about $1K to drop it in for ya.

The swap is pretty hard compared to most honda swaps. I have done many haonda swaps including b series and h sereis. If you are serious about the swap and have the money to do it drop me a email below. It will be worth your while.

Re: H22 Swap

Exactly. The swap is pretty difficult because the h series motor is pretty large compared to the b series engines but you'll thank yourself for dropping it in your hatch when you feel the incredible power the h22 delivers.

you could always grab a helms manual and try to do the swap yourself.

the hard part is going from shift linkage to shift cables. ther then that the hasport mounts will mount it up in there with some minor cutting in a few places.

I helped my friend do this swap in his 4dr a little under a year ago. I've heard people talking before about having to cut the firewall but as far as i know that's more for a CRX. The only real cutting you'll have to do is for the shiftlinkage and the passenger side (tranny) mount bracket. Here are some sites that may help you out with some more info:
http://h22hybrid.20m.com (Pics and lots of info)
http://www.h22a.org/ (Very helpful people on the forum)
And of course it'd definently be a good idea to contact S13GTR since he's done the swap and knows what he's doing.
