'New' project - Toyota Celica WRC!

I dig up one of my old projects which I started long time ago.
I finished bottom side of chasis and major things on body.

Well is nice to see one ST185 here, you are way ahead of me, i've just started this model and let me tell you that S27 PE detail kit is just awesome for it. Mine will be Didier Auriol's so at least it will be different from your Juha Kankkunen's. I'm sure that it will come as good as your previous models so that's why I really hope to see your progress.

I'll upload my progress soon so maybe we can share experiences and doubts (Mostly me, the newbie one)

Please keep'em coming!

Re: 'New' project - Toyota Celica WRC!

Wow, this kit reminds me my early years of modeling. I did it a long time ago and now the front bumper has been used on my Golf MkIII (see my sig).

Btw, good job so far

Great

It looks nice from here, but could you post some more pics please, I'd really like to see how you made the dashboard.

One question: Do your roll cage seems to fit rigth 100%, mine doesn't so I don't know if it is just mine.

Keep us posted.

Rodrigo, dashboard si simple as in kit, only decals are on it.

Nice to see this one come down off the shelf

Have you modified the fuel tank at the back?

No, I didn't. I don't have much references for that year.
So far I will add only seat belts and some CF on rear of seats.
Is there much modification to do it?

I guess it is a bit of a pain to modify the tank. Tamiya left it as the oversize Safari tank from the 1992 Safari kit. If you want to have a go at fixing the tank I could dig up some reference pictures for you. Although it could possibly be a waste of time since that area is likely to be out of sight on the finished car. I also think the registration number for Juha's car is wrong on the decal sheet. The picture on the side of the box shows that.

Apart from those minor glitches it looks to be a great kit, gotta build one someday!

Re: 'New' project - Toyota Celica WRC!

Only reference I have is from "Rally Cars" book and there is difference but I think that car is not from that year. But like you said, that part of car isn't much visible. Yes, that kit have both version in box, safari and Monte Carlo. I think that tamiya pack only different decals in it.

I will check that reg. number. Thanx for tip!
