Question R32 Opinions Pls!

Guys, after the last 12 hour endurance race, I am now hooked! Talks have already begun with at least 3 different teams about next year's race. Bigger budget with more sponsorship for next year. And that means a pretty serious car (not to say the EVO5 we ran this year was not a serious car though!).
There are many suggestions now, including an EVO7/Camaro (hahhah...who can tune that car over here?)/Supra etc. But I am a GTR freak. And I am thinking of a R32 GTR V-spec. What I have in mind is this.
I used to run my R33 at 1.12 bar on stock turbo and it churned 375rwhp with 44kg-m of torque from 4000rpm flat to 6200rpm! Completely stock internals. Now, let say I have a R32 GTR V-Spec for the endurance race. Slap in a pair of GT2510s (which is almost stock in size save the steel impellers), a 264 inj 272 ex cams configuration, run it at say 1.4 bar....wouldn't I get say 410-420 rwhp with about the same torque ie 44kg-m from 4k rpm flat out to 6200rpm? Strip the car/perpex the windows etc etc...I might get 1200kg in weight or even 1100kgs! With that kinda power, I could limit redline to just 7000rpm to ensure the engine last the 12 hours...I cud do with that coz the torque stays flat till 6200rpm while peak horses is at 6800-7000rpm. That wud be lovely and the Porsches GT3 RS with about 420hp at the crank (which hv been dominant so far) cud hv a real challenger this time around!
What do you guys think? What about other mechanical thingy in the GTR which you all thing might need strenghtening? Drive shaft? Wheel bearing? Gearbox? ( I doubt this though). Diffs? I think the car wud be reliable and will last the 12 hours. I just wanna know any area of weaknesses.
Of course the car wud have GT i'cooler/oil cooler/sports radiator/ap racing brake kit etc etc (all of which wud come from my R33 of course).
Wud appreciate input pls. Thanks.

Factory pistons won't handle 1.4 bar/kg for very long. You would be better with 25-30's also. They will still come on boost fairly close to the factory turbos. Put some 550cc injectors, a front mount and either an aftermarket ecu or custom chip the factory one. You won't have to do the cams to make 500hp easy.

I've got exhaust, front pipes, pods, 600x300x100 front mount and chipped ecu. The car is making 450hp at the fly wheel and over 700nm of torque. Runs flat 12's in full trim on street tyres. I am also only running 1.15kgs of boost or about 16.5psi. The factory turbos aren't going to make much more and we are running 25deg advanced timing. With 2530's 550cc injectors and what I have now that would push me over 530hp easy. for how long don't know. Too many variables such as head gasket, fuel, air temps, and condition of the pistons. For a 12hr race I would also think about running the oil cooler, bigger radiator, and strip as much weight out of the car as possible. Once you fit the roll cage you should be able to get down to 1280kgs or so depending on the size and configuration of the roll cage.

Why not go with the new GT-SS turbo. It will spool quicker than the 2510s, and put out a little more power, plus they are of a newer design. Like any engine build you have to give a little to get a little. A lot of the choice really depends on the track you intend to race on.

I see a lot of money to be spent

Thanks Guys for the advice.
I was thinking of 2510 because it is almost the same size with the stock ones. What I need is a fat torque, so that I could change gear below 7000rpm to preserve the engine for the long haul. That was why I was thinking of the 2510. Do you guys think I could get just about the same torque curve with 2530s or the newer GT-SS? My friend is using the GT-SS and he sait it spools really fast!
Ya, I think the other usual stuffs will hv to be changed as well, like the head gasket/pistons etc.
Sky, yeah, it's gonna be a bit expensive than this year's car. A friend of mine is gonna get a 25k sponsorship (which will go towards buying the car). Me and my co-drivers will soursce more sponsorship and the rest will have to come out from our own pocket. (OMG, my missus is gonna kill me for this! ). But you know, the endurance gives you a strange kinda high and I am entirely hooked!!!

Fat Torque = Displacement
2.8 stroker, 264s, with a GT-SS 600cc, ah, what the hell and a 50 shot

J/k about the 50 shot, of course.

Your torque will be better with the GT-SS. You will have more boost at the lower RPMs, but the 2530 will have better power around 5500 and up. This is a ball park figure of course, from what I have read

Re: R32 Opinions Pls!

For flatter torque the N1 turbos are also a good choice. Gibson Motorsports was making 640hp with them back in 1992 when they compained for the last year in the Australian Touring Car series which they got 1st and 2nd place.
A mate of mine has them in his R32 and with a pretty large set of cams he is seeing full boost at around 3,400 rpms and peak power and torque under 7,000 though they cary well into the 7,000 rpm range before falling off.
A while ago his car made 510hp at the wheels at 1.4 bar, mind you he rebuilt the motor with a lot of good bits.

Well, I just bought another one. This one is Silver, with a Tommy Kaiara(sp) front bumper cover. I have been workin pretty long hours, so I have not had time to do an work on the project car. As soon as the work load slows down, and I can sell some stuff. I will be back in the garage.

I have heard very good things about the N1s. 510 at the wheels, very impressive.

3 R32 GTRs, and the R32 GTSt.

I am sellin the GTSt.

The new GTR, have an awesome suspension with some Apexi googies. That is going to be the wife's daily driver. I get to keep the black one, but both are sporting Panasports G7s. I'll take some pics, and load them when I get time to breath.

Gotta get back to work
