How to know if my shift cable lock plate has been replaced
Is there any way I can find out simply by looking if the shift cable lock plate on my new XTerra (new to me, manufacture red 8/99) has been replaced according to the recall issued in December of 2000? (NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number: 00V288000)

Call a dealer any dealer.
Call your dealer with your VIN number. They can tell you if it falls with in the replacement numbers and they can tell if it has been replaced.
