1990 Five Speed Tranny Oil??

I am unable to find this info. anywhere.

Do ya all know what type of oil I should put in a 1990 K1500 5 speed (normal duty) transmission?

I am looking in my 1990 shop manual and it says for the 5 speed Borg Warner trans it takes 2 quarts of dextron II. hope it helps.

IT is a special transmission and dope mix. You can get it at most transmission shops and GM parts dealers. Do not use regular 80w or automatic transmission fluid in this transmission you will have alot of problems if you do that will cost more. IT is about 5.00 a quart and you need three quarts.

The additive is known as "Synchro-Mesh"...It is put out by GM and costs around $20.00 a quart
