Weak Brakes...Bigger Rotors?
My only complaint with my 2002 Double Cab is the weak brakes. With stock pads, I get fading after 3 or 4 hard stops. Yes, I do drive a bit aggressively but this would not translate well off-road. I've tried fade resistent pads and they don't grip as well but DO resist fading.
I've found a few aftermarket rotors that are cross-drilled but don't think this would significantly help. What I woud like to see are some bigger rotors in a kit that will also offset the calipers. Has anyone heard of or know of a custom shop where this has been done? I'd hate to have to do it myself. One off's are just way too expensive. |

Bosch RBP436
Have you tried Bosch RBP436 brake pads they are awesome for the driver that likes aggressive handling and a performance driving feel. Bosch Brake Pads feature multi-layer technology for exceptional stopping power and less noise, I think they are the best you can get for your taco, they also have longer performance life than other brands.

Performance Friction makes a decent set of pads that grip well, why not try those? They're available at Autozone and they even have a lifetime warranty for as long as you own your truck. When they wear out, just bring 'em back for a new set. -Rob |
