here's the deal.
. pretty much stock car now...except 17's. (205/40/17) i have nuespeed race springs that i'm going to put on in a month or two, with the ingalls front camber kit. however. i've heard a few things about having 17's w/ nuespeed drop. how the rear wheels can't be aligned, because the fender will be sitting on the wheels if they do get aligned. i don't believe this, because i have at least a 2.5" gap in my wheel well now, with stock springs. there's no way. you guys heard the same thing? (do you follow? sort of confusing sentences) . what i am worried about is my snow tires. i have 165/65/14's on my stock rims. was wondering if you guys think they'll fit in when i have a 2" drop. i'm pretty sure the radius on them is a good deal bigger than my 17's, but they're thinner. will they fit? . anyone had/have the same dilemma? . thanks, corona.

Well it would help to tell us what wheel size and offset you have.

He said they were 205/40-17's and they shouldn't rub with only 2 inches of drop. (as long as offset isn't crazy)

the stocks:
stock offset, i don't know what it is 165/65/14 rims: 205/40/17 (x7?) the offset, i don't know. i searched for a long time, and found nothing. they're tsw imola's... if it helps...when you look at the car (from front to back, at one corner)...the outside of the wheels/rims are almost exactly flush with the fender.

Hey CivicSiRacer, I have a similiar question, I have a 92 hatch and Im getting rims and tires for it. I am really getting into auto-x so Im going for the widest I can get. Im looking into the rota slipstreams 15x7, I was thinking of 225 tires but I dont know if that is too wide. What kind of offset do you recommend or any info is helpful right now, rims, tires, anything.
Thanks! Leo |

Well it depends on what class you're going to be in. If you have nothing done to your car stay in stock class for about one year and mod the driver not the car.

oopsi, too late for that. before I even knew about auto-x I put a jdm b18c in, so that puts me right in street mod. I dont think there are limitations to rims and tires here. At least none that I would go to. I want 15x7 just dont know how wide I can go and what offset I need to make them fit.

I understand the idea of modding the driver not the car. But wouldnt it be better to have the car done and learn to drive it the way it is, instead of learning to drive then do some suspension work and having to readjust then tires, etc. I mean, I know I'll be competing with real racers in street mod, but right now Im not competing to win. Just for fun and to get some seat time.
Besides right now, my civic is totalled. I am looking for a new one to swap all my parts. But I might consider racing whichever civic I get stock. Take the motor out of the wrecked civic now and work on it taking my time. And little by little add stuff, as if I was buying at that time. I dont know, just a thought. So about the tires, what do you say? |

Well then you need to go with 13x8" or 13x9" Panasports with 235/45x13" or 245/45x13" Hoosiers
![]() I have a couple of friends who have CRXs and BMW 2002s and they run that in CSP/DSP.
