Re: Re: Experience needed with my suspension

If its not an Si, most likely it does not have a rear sway bar. Adding a rear sway bar with a good suspension set-up will help handling greatly. I have 2 rear lower control arms(rear sway mount) & a stock rear sway for your car if you want to buy it. I would suggest purchasing a larger than stock bar, Suspension Techniques does not require the hole in rear control arms for mounting so you can use your stock LCA's.

Re: Re: Experience needed with my suspension

Budget isnt not much of an issue. adjustable ride height in struts would be nice, and lowering springs would be nice to go with it along with a front and back strut bar and what system should i get for each and etc...car is not an si what would it cost all on its own and how much would it cost to get it done?

Re: Re: Re: Experience needed with my suspension

As far as strut/tie bars go, Neuspedd makes some nice solid bars. Other tie bars on the market dont really do any thing because they have hinged ends. Strut/tie bars & sway bars are easy to install & can be done yourself with basic hand tools. Personally I would upgrade the sways before adding upper strut bars, rear sway mainly! I didn't like the way my car handled with a larger front sway, so I run a stock front sway with poly bushings/endlinks & a larger rear bar(ST). Rear sway & lower tie should be used together.

You adjust ride height with adjustable coils, not adjustable shocks - Koni's have adjustable spring perches - lowers 20mm(front) -- 15mm(rear)

Eibach - H&R - Neuspeed for springs
Koni - KYB - Tokico - Bilstein for shocks
H&R - Tein for true coilovers

when upgrading shocks/struts also upgrade the upper strut mount bushings

I cant think what the labor hrs are off-hand, thinking 2.5-3.0hrs not including alignment.

My suspension on the 91 civic si :
Eibach Pro-Kit
KYB AGX's
Neuspeed tie bar(all 3)
Custom made front lower tie
Suspension Techniques rear adjsutable sway
Stock front sway - poly bushings
Energy Suspension bushing kit(about 50% installed)

I am very happy with the ride/performance. If I had to do it over again I would have gone with H&R coilovers. I can now get stuff from Tire Rack for slightly higher than cost and that includes H&R products

Get yourself a repair manual from www.helminc.com -- you may want to do it yourself then.
