As for it being a 95 V6, it's either a 3.4 or a 3.8, depending on when it was made during the year. Neither engine is a blistering example of power and speed, but can be made to be for lots of money. I have a friend right now who has a 98 V6 Firebird, And for the money to supercharge his V6 and get it to around 450 hp, he's putting a complete LS1 in his car, with a little money left over for things like headers. If you were to go this route, you could find an LT1 for around a grand and swap that in. I wouldn't put too much faith in that V6, no telling what it's been put through in 160k miles...

I think he just wants some help on making it run nice.

How mechanical are you?

A Rad Flush would be nice, as well as a complete oil change and engine flush. Running Premium will help the car. New Spark Plugs, check the brakes and shocks.

If you are decently mechanical or willing to follow directions I can tell you how to do these, as I'm sure others here can too.

As you pointed out in the quote above, he's also looking for advice on whether to purchase it or not, like I discussed...

Heh I keep forgetting thats $3000 US heh.

I'd offer $2500 for it, as long as it has been decently maintained, then go over it yourself after.

160,000 miles is a lot of milage, but it depends on how hard it was driven etc.

I have a 1968 Firebird and it was doing fine after 34 years and 90,000 miles heh. I had a Taurus with the 3.?? into 230,000 miles not a problem (Good buy too for $1000CDN @75,000 miles heh)

Test drive it. $3000 sounds too much though. Please use some periods, it makes reading less tiring.

I'd offer him $1500 for it. I wouldn't expect more than $2700-3000 for my Dad's 95 3.4L V6 Camaro that has a little over 102K on the odometer, and it's in good shape.
