My girl needs your help... Me too...
When my girlfriend tries to start her car it will crank as normal but not ignite... the starter works fine, there is spark and everything. Then a few minutes later she will start it again and it will turn over and start then imediatly drop off and stall. If she tries again later, it will start fine and go. These events are totally random and not cooresponding to any common situations. Then while driving the engine lighht will flicker and the car will lose power, sputter, then take off again, and the engine light will turn off. Everytime I get in the car I never see the engine light, but she says it is coming on... Makes no sense to me... does this sound like bad coil like other people's cars or what? crank sensor? another note... My girl's 94 Jetta 2.0 is reading "1(upsidedown U) 02" kinda like "10 02"but with the first 0 as an upsidedown U - OK it reads that on the odometer display when you turn the key. I never noticed it before and was wondering what it meant. The car has trouble starting now at random(hot or cold) also the aftermarket headunit put in won't power up now or display, but will eject and load.((It does workin my friends car when i pop it in his car)) so it isn't the head. I just put a new battery in cause the old one was overheating. Anyone have a clue??? |

if your car isn't starting .. it just rolls over.. it could be many things that is wrong wit the car. i think for one its the starter.. that even though it has good spark the little fork crank leg that it has the turns the flywheel could be worn out. that could be a possibility. it could be that or maybe a couple of spark plug wires are out and you can't start it and it stalls. but im pretty sure that it is your starter.. have that checked out..

I had a simmilar problem with my Jetta, and it turned out to be a vacume leak. Mine was the boot that sits on top of the fuel regulator thing atop the airfilter, the big black thing, i don't know if your car has one, but i would check all the vacume lines etc.......
