error codes??

hello, i was searching a few boards and noticed that there is an onboard diagnostics and thought id try it out because it hasnt been running great lately, but instead of getting an check engine light flashing i recieved a few codes where the mileage is usually shown, this is what i got:
P 1684
------
P 0301
------
done
then it went back to the mileage, does anyone know what this means?? any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks again and have a great day...

I could be wrong but I think that is a more precise display of the trouble codes the definitions for which I saw at this page:

Select Powertrain for 'P'. I don't know if what is written there is universal or not though.

Thanks so much for that link! I just joined this forum today in hopes of finding out what the diagnostic codes are that I'm getting.... and here they are:

P1684 Metering Oil Pump Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
P0551 Power Steering Pressure Sensor Circuit Range/Performance

I guess I wasn't surprised about the Power Steering one, because it's been moaning/whining.

Last night the check engine light came on and I did the OBD and now at least I know.

Now to find out how much to fix it!!!
