Played ID V:2...I suck
Yeah well...Whats the secret of holding good drifts on this game? I was thinking of everything to do... I tried just running fast into corners and then brake and Counter steer. Tried downshifting going into a corner while keeping it floored and tried lots of other techniques. I couldnt get it down, I played it 3 times and had to leave. Cars I choosed were I believe...Ae86, Mr2, Altezza. Altezza I seemed to control the best. But still I cant keep the car straight also coming outta the corners, its one big continous counter-steering swaying back n forth across the road. But yeah give me some tips please...Im gonna go play it next weekend, found it in a mall pretty close, I loved it, kick ass music blasting while driving. But I think Im gonna stick to the Altezza or try a FC or FD. Thanks

When your coming out of the corner slowly let the wheel feed back to where it wants to be, that should help you from swaying. To tell you the truth your best bet for the first while of playing is to just use an auto and focus on driving and not having to shift also the Is300 is a good starter car as is the Ae86. But you won't get any better sitting on your computer
Get Back Out There And Spend Those Quarters!!!!!

K cool. Another question...If you win a race, do you have to spend another 1.25 to play again or does it just let you keep racing til you loose? Obviously I didnt get the pleasure of racing cuz I picked the harder courses thinking the more action...

I can help you out, wher do you play? Town East or Richardson Square? Im at Tinseltown with my 1337 Ver1 skills, i get free play (yep
) and so i just build up cars in ver1, and ssend em on to ver2, so i dont have to waste time upgrading cares for 1.25 at the overprices texas ver2s it all works out

Well, theres 4 different places in the area, Town East (Mesquite? Too far
) , Richardson Square Mall in CyberZone (near food court), Adventure Landing (1.00, if its closer) and Tinseltown (hometown ) Adventure Landing and Tinseltown are Ver1 only anyhow..

Alright, I have a question, what is the trick on the Gum-Tape DeathMatch? I haven't watched the series in a long time, so I can't recall what Takumi said was the trick.

There are two tricks to a "gum-tape deathmatch".
Trick the first: Don't drive conservatively to make up for the lack of steering input. You do this and you lose all your braking points, acceleration points, and tend to make more mistakes. Trick the second: Don't rely on steering before the corner to get the tail out. You use the weight-shift of the chassis under braking and throttle modulation to hold your slip angle. He doesn't actually say this, but this what I've found to help on really tight roads (stupid close ratio gearbox meant I had to drive with one hand just so I can stay in the powerband)

Its Tuesday nights only, and its ver 1. I dunno, i think most Speedzones are independant, but arent you near Adventure Landing? Richardson Square Mall has Ver1 and Ver2, Tinseltown(come challenge me
) has ver1 and there are otehr places, initial D is like a plauge

Wooo hoo!!! I played IDv2 yesterday at TownEast again. I choosed the Rx7 Spirit R. I played my friend about 5 or 6 times, he beat me the first time and I beat him the rest (he was using a R32). Then I played the computer long enough to clear Myogi and the first guy on the 2nd mountain. I fixed my swaying drift problem, now I just use like a feint/accel. off technique then half way through the corner I give it gas again according to speed exiting. Its working great!! Im alot less harsh w/ the steering in compared to how I was. A question tho...What does the KEY: ### on my card mean/stand for? and can I use my v2 card on v1 games? Im gonna play at Towneast again this coming weekend and at Richardson Square the next. Also I got some kinda coupon at Towneastmall, spend $30 for tokens they give you $60 worth. Im gonna put that to use next week.

Re: Played ID V:2...I suck
The reason you beat the R32 was because you have the FD...overall better car than the R32 by FAR unless you were on Myougi, if you beat a R32 on Myougi the other driver sucked. The Key number doesnt mean much besides as identification i believe. V2 cards only work on V2 machines and V1 cards only work with V1 machines, no switching around, but you can renew V1 cards to run on V2, but you cant ever play V1 with that card again. Paying $30 on a game and then receiving another $30 isn't that much of a deal after you factor in the fact that you ARE playing a game that you could own for another $20..
