Unhappy amp wire problemmm???

i got a 4 channell 800 watt amp. the wires that go to battery were cut on both sides of the fuse. Can i just twist these together with and use electrical tape, or should i solder them.

Re: amp wire problemmm???

u still need the fuse, believe me that if u want this to work well, go to radioshack and get a inline fuse block that u can connect both ends of the wire to.

You can just connect them with tape, but thats not the greatest idea, beucase for 800watts, its probably a pretty big wire, and it can get hot, might melt the tape or just come loose. Also, if it comes apart, it could fall down and short it self on the car body, screwing up alot of sh&%. So whatever you do, make sure its a solid connection, and its not going anywhere. You could always put a crimp connector on both sides and tape around that, if you can find one big enough. Soldering would be the "best" way to fix it though, so if you can, do it that way.
