Question Will there be a '03 Focus WRC?

This fooled me for a moment, I thought there was a new WRC kit coming out. I'd just spotted the '03 Focus WRC on the release list for October, only to realise that it was the 1/10 RC body shell. Hopefully this means that there'll be a 1/24 kit to follow soon ... or am I expecting too much?

Tamiya are also now selling the driver/co-driver as a separate item, I hope this means that they'll stop including them in the kits and bumping up the price for something that hardly anybody wants.

There has been a 1/10 bodyshell of the 2003 Impreza WRC for about 6 months now, but so far we haven't seen anything in 1/24.
I would like to assume the same there, that since there is a 1/10 we will see a 1/24, but that remains to be seen.

A 2003 Focus and Impreza would be a nice addition, especially since both cars have scored wins this year, but that means nothing and whether we will see a kit remains to be seen.

We can only hope.

beats me why they won't make either the 03 focus or 03 impreza. Funny though how they make the 206, even though the Peugeot team says they haven't done one single modification to the car in over 18 months

Ah if only it were true that what was released as RC body governed what came next in 1/24. If that was the case then i'm still waiting for an '84 Safari Celica, Pug 306 Maxi, Lancia Delta.......

Right now i'm hoping this does happen with the '03 NSX's, infact I think this is the most plausible new 1/24 release from them. We'll see!

Re: Will there be a '03 Focus WRC?

For a long time there has been no corelation between Tamiya's 1/10th RC body shells and 1/24th static models. The work involved in producing an RC bodyshell is insignifigant compared to tooling for an accurate scale model.

Maybe the ascendance of European teams in the WRC is having an effect on the domestic Japanese market for new kits? I still wonder where the Xsara is.

Doesnt this happen because to make more cash car manufactures sell the rights for a car in different scales to the highest bidder. So if tamiya buys the 1/10th right it doesnt mean they automatically own the 1/24th right ect

I would have thought there will be a 03 focus and impreza even if there produced by Hasegawa or a transkit(dont forget them), as earlier versions appear to be popular. Add to that the fact the focus is a very interesting looking car. Thou tamiya will probably just bung a new decal sheet in with a 01 kit LOL cough cough peugeot.

that focus in WRC Collection number 4 is insane! Shame I cant read the artical.
