what to do

i just bought a 84 white on red vette 2 weeks ago. dont get me wrong i love it but what are my options on making some good power im talking like 350 to about 450. should i get rid of the crossfire maybe bore it out. im just switching over from the darkside(hondas) so this 280 ft lbs. of torque is satisfying me for now but it will never be as powerful as my dads 63 sting ray with the 427.(yes i know 67 was the 1st year with the 427) just looking for some good power to drive on the street and hit the track every once and a while. any comments would be great. can i change my screen name now?

I have a '91 civic si & 96 vette - nice mix huh

If I were you I would carefully remove and store the crossfire engine(might be worth some money some day) then install either a LT1, LT4, or LS1 engine & might as well slap a 6-speed in there while your at it. Why not install 427 like your pops, nice lingenfelter twin turbo LS1 427, only $50,000 for the engine

Yank the crossfire off. As said before , a LT1 or LT4 is a good choice, but you could also do a 383 or 406 with a Lingenfelter/Accel super ram intake.

I'd go with a 406...I put one into my '79 and its making about 475hp and 525lbs-ft of torque. Its very easy to maintain and pretty reliable. I also like the small block because it fits so nicely. The only thing you need to worry about is intake clearance

I guess that would fit, though I don't have any experience with it. By the way, congratulations and welcome to the light
