Audio Problems with 96 Tahoe
My stock radio in my tahoe has the auto adjuster for speed... the faster you go the louder it gets to compensate for road noise... well that feature started freaking out one day, it would get real quiet the blast the speakers then go out, adjusting itself.
eventually the stereo completely stopped sending a signal to the speakers... if i played with the power/volume knob it would blast thru a little then go out. the stereo itself seemed to be functioning fine, just no sound. so today i replaced the stock stereo with a "temp" replacement jvc cd player... and with this i am getting the same thing... no audio.... the stereo works fine and it seems like it is sending the signal thru, but still i get no sound... so, im not sure what the problem is here... anyone have any suggestions? ive checked the fuses, but i will check a little more in depth tomorrow... any help would be appreciated

Re: Audio Problems with 96 Tahoe
it sounds like you have a loose power or ground wire, have you noticed if it does those sound blurps when you hit bumps or is it just sparatic?

ok well with a replaced deck you shouldnt have a problem with this volume feature. id say you are getting trouble across the power/ground though i dont think this is quite so likely. also id check the speekers and prehaps run new wires to them and see if that helps. to check the speekers you can take the + and - wires and connect them to a AA battery it should kick them if it doesnt then theres something wrong with the speeker itself.

some new info... right below the stereo is my rear defrost button and climate control section... when i press the rear defrost button, the speakers kick in for a min... or they crackle. so anyone gotta wiring diagram for a 96 tahoe? i gotta find where they meet up. i took the climate control unit out and checked it with no luck..
