swell drifting video

I'm sure many of you have already seen this before, but somebody just posted it another board (a civic forum, oddly enough), and I thought I'd throw the link up here for good measure. It's 26.5meg and a little over 5minutes long, but I found it entirely entertaining. http://www.jdmrus.com/draft.wmv

I had posted a link to it a long time ago.

well, we civic people are just now getting into the drifting since it's all popular and whatnot, and we're all a bunch of sheep : ). there's actually a thread on that board about driving a civic. sooooo dumb. worry not, dear friends--I shan't be yanking my hand-brake unless I've just parked the car.

well, i can't speak for everybody else, but although i would have loved to have gotten an s2000, i simply can't afford one. and while i used to agree with you that the only 'real' cars are rwd, my civic is just as fun as the s14s i drove : ). of course, i also recognize the civic for what it is: a commuter hatchback, not a racecar. that said, i still get way too much pleasure out of driving it.

I think a race car can be FWD or RWD, both have proven themselves and they both can handle albeit they have a little bit different driving style between the two of them. However its just simple physics that you have to have power to the rear wheels to make them slide and control it like you do when drifting. You can slide your rearend out on a fwd in some circumstances, doesn't mean its drifting though.

neither are all slides in rwd cars lol... if you want to see some real drifting, watch some videos of jap guys doing it on streets up in the mountains, not race car drivers or anything. These guys have some serious talent to do what they do that fast on mountain roads none the less, sometimes a mistake could cost you your life.

Sup ppl =] for the sake of not making another thread I have one quick question

My friend drives a 85 Ford Mustang 5.0, he says he can drift in it (or wants to at least)

is it possible for him to drift in it? (its also bone stock)

If not, what will be needed for him to drift?

(Ever since I introduced him to initial D hes gone drift crazy =\)
