broken oil pump
gotta replace my oil pump
nebody kno if i need to take off the tranny before taking off the oil pan or can i just take off the oil pan?

You don't need to remove the transmission to remove the oil pan. You however will need to remove the flywheel dust shield that is attcahed to the trans with a few bolts.

The oil pump is on the other side of the motor...When I replaced the oil pump on my d16a6, all I did was remove the oil pan, remove the harmonic balancer pulley, removed timing belt/lower timing belt cover, and like 8 bolts and the oil pump comes right off...

yup red is right. take off oil pan. take off the pulley with timing belt and the gear adn everyhitnd down to the oil pump. unbotl oil pump and pull off. easy simple takes alitl bit time
