B16 acting slow..

Specs- 1990 CRX b16, Airmass Headers, Intake, performance muffler.

The past 2 weeks or so it seems like my car is missing some power. It was running great after I changed the oil, but a little bit after that it's starting to bog down. When I floor-it there is nothing at the end of the pedal. Once I get to a certain point of giving it gas, it wont increase anymore, like there is some play in the pedal, but not when you first push the pedal, when at the end of the pedal. Maybe I'm just getting used the speed and craving more, but this b16 doesn't seem to be as fast as it should. I was racing a Cavalier(some fag w/ a body kit, think it was a z24) down the highway, and we nailed the gas at about 60 mph and i had nothing there...and he pulled on me. I hear about people with b16's and nailing the gas and the car just breaking open, not mine...

I need new plugs, but I don't think thats it. I was thinking maybe my fuel pump is going out, but I'm obviously a novice, and just starting to learn this engine, So any help would be wonderful...

it might be the fuel pump or maybe the injectors could be cloged or fuel filter but i dont think it would only happen when you hit the gas hard

have you recentley done anything with the timing? timing belt change? i was just thinkin that maybe the timing is off. You might want to check the distributor (rotor, etc). Run some injector cleaner through the system and see if that helps too.

No timing belt change, replaced the alternator about 2 weeks ago. Just put some injector cleaner in yesterday. Haven't checked the timing, I'll check it,...I also have a idle fluctuation problem, don't know if they're related

boging down

Sometimes it could deal with the heat in the weather, cause my car does not like the heat, it likes the cold.

i agree check your oil level, VTEC only engages when there is enough oil in the system.

Ok I know I am new to all this but on a dune buggy we fixed up we were having this exact problem. There was idle fluctuation and then when we'd really get on it with the gas it wouldn't *romp* like it should.

Cause: Our timing was off.
Just my I could be completely wrong.
