1997 Chrysler T&C LXI remote programming

I have a 1997 Chrysler T&C LXI. I needed an extra remote on the
vehicle so I went to ebay and got one. I did not realize it was a
different model than the one I have. It had a trunk button instead of
the panic button. In any event, I went to program it following the
instructions in the manual, namely to put ignition on and click on
unlock for 5 seconds and then click on panic and release both. The
new remote I bought (with trunk button) got programmed but not my
original remote. I have repeated the above programming procedure on
the new remote (with trunk button) but it does not chime for me and am
unable to program the original remote.

Anyone experience this issue. Anybody have any detailed instructions
to program both remotes from scratch. I have seen a lot of posts
about traction control and program wire but am unable to locate where
they are. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks a bunch,

Gus
