Questions with Cougar!
Hi, I own a 1969 Cougar. I need to take out the tranny on it so I can rebuild it. I was wondering you knew anything about have to take the engine out before i can take out the tranny? Or can I just take it out with out touching the engine.
Thanks guys! |

Sad to see this forum with no life in it... I'm sure you have the transmission out and done, but just incase someone else comes accross this, NO you don't have to pull the engian to pull the tranny. Just drop the driveshaft out and the rear yoke and pull it out of the trans. Disconnect your linkages, collant lines (if it's an auto) and unbolt from the block.. it should try to fall on your head. Good luck getting that monster back in.
