I need some advice and help.

Okay. Ive got an 88 silverado and its red. I painted my interior black, so right noe the whole thing inside is black. I started painting certain things blue inside (glove box inside, ash tray, vents) and all ihave been getting is negative comments about it and how i should have done red, but im not too into red, the only reason my truck is red is cuz it was a good deal. should i worry, or consider red? im confused.

Second, i was painting some stuff blue inside and i noticed the areas i didnt light coat are scratching off. should i have tried a primer? the paint i use on the plastic stuff is Krylon Fusion(bonds to ALL plastics). and exactly what brand primer shoul i look for, clearcoats too???

THANKS!!!!!!!

First off, I wouldn't settle for the red paint if you don't want it. I'd end up saving money for a new paint job. Second, as far as the color you're painting interior parts, being blue, that's up to you. It's your truck and should be an expression of your tastes, not that of critics. I put red inside of my silver truck, but I liked it. It doesn't matter as long as you like it. Who cares what anyone else says about it??

As far as the paint...I'm not to believeing of the Krylon Fusion stuff. It's just not believeable to me that paint could bond to a surface like that without damaging it in some way. I would get the paint off of them and then spray it with some Krylon white primer. I've always had good results with it as long as I let the paint dry long enough before putting it in. Spray the primer, let it dry, and sand it smooth. Then, spray your color coat (blue in your case) and let it dry. I'd recommend clear coating the pieces afterwards to protect them from the sun. Hope this helps.
