hey here are something off the top of my head you might want to check
low oil level (i think also if oil level is to high but not sure) if you have vtec i think its 4.5 q and nonvtec is 4, could have a bad oil pump, really dirty oil filter, the light itself might have a short in it if you cant find out what it is i would take it to a honda dealer just to be on the safe side hope this helps |

Did it happen after an oil change? Possible broken or disconnected sending unit.
FIRST thing I would is check the oil level, if at proper level run engine for a few minutes, then feel the oil filter it should be warm. If it was something serious your engine would have seized by now if your driving

no it happened randomly, about 3 months after buying the car. I did a oil change after the oil light started coming on. also changed filter. oil level looks perfect. the light isnt always on, usually comes on after about 20minutes of driving. it seems like the rougher i drive the faster the light will start coming on.

hey if i was you i would go to a dealer or shop get them to find out what is make it come and if its something easy you can do then do and save the money if its nothing then remove the light bulb and dont worry about or you could get a oil pressure gauge instilled then you can watch it for yourself and see what it is doing

Re: Car drives with oil light on
I would not remove the idiot oil light bulb if no oil pressure guage. Get electrical not mechanical O/P guage unless you want a mess inside your car.

I had a 91 accord that had a problem with the light. It wouldn't always come on, but when it did I would just shut the car off and it would go away. If I was driving, I would push in the clutch, and turn the ignition off and then on real quick. Not long enough to stop turning the engine. I had this problem for 2 yrs.Guess it was a short.

Wow
Wow I have just recently run into this problem as well, just out of no where the light starting turning on slowly and then as i drove more and more it turned on all the way. I have checked oil pressure and it is 80psi at 3k rpm which is 30psi over the what the book says. Not sure if that is a problem... I don't know what to do next either, so if anyone figures this out lemme know
