Finally got my car back from the shop....

Like a month and a half ago i said that i should have my car back in about 4 days with the b16 in it....well turns out it took 3 weeks and the past 3 weeks I haven't had much time to let you guys know about it Anyways...I tried primering my car and the guy who primered it mixed it up wrong -- too much reducer, not enough primer. Well my car is a primer/pink color now cuz the red is kinda showing through. Well I'm happy with the b16 and would recommend it to anyone who's thinking about it. Took it out the first night I got it and got a few races, took out a 2001 v6 stang , like 88 supercharged thunderbird , and a supercharged bmw - I lost once and it was to a 95 Accord EX 4 dr bone stock except and 85 shot of nitrous

I do have one question for you guys though...usually when i turn the key to auxilary, all the lights under the speedo come on...like twice i've turned it there and no lights come on and when i go to start it, it just turns over and doensn't start Any ideas???

3 weeks for a B16 swap ? that's messed... even if you are doing s DPFI to MPFI swap it should not take that long. I did My swap In 2 days with basic hand tools and a motor hoist I rented.

Well it was suppose to take 4 days but the car wouldn't start and they couldn't figure out the problem.

Good kill on a supercharged T bird. V 6 stangs are a joke. BTW primer absorbs moisture so I hope you get it painted sometime soon.. Sorry to jack the thread but I have a few questions for b16a owners........

Is the b16a really worth the money???3g's for a swap at my local shops...a plus is one shop has a dyno machine which shows me that there serious and would rather waste my money at a top notch place. But a v6 stang....I smoke with my car now....For the b16a owners...how easy would it be to take a 94-97 GT stangs with a b16a? Im considering a new car over a b16a swap but if its worth the swap than I may just saty with the honda camp.

GT mustangs run mid to low 14's stock so it'll take a bit to be able to take one out...unless u get a shitty driver. I'm happy wiht my b16, if u want speed then thats the way to go.

for 3g you can make your current set up faster than a stock b16....keep in mind im not saying its a better route than the b16 in the long run being the b16 is a great platform to build on. however with 3g in hand you can build a 200whp d16a6 if you choose your parts wisely. like my turbo kit i peiced together ran me around $350...imagine you spend under 1g to put together a nice turbokit...the other 2g can go into a standalone and build a stronger bottom end.

try low 15's to high 14's, the brand new ones might run mid to low 14's stock but not 94's to 99's

Sounds cool, but you should really take it easy on a new engine before you go out and run it like that...

3Gs is too much money, you need to do some shopping around. Maybe a lot of shopping around. My swap was like $2200 american.. Maybe even less and that included an auto to manual swap also.

I raced a 94-97ish GT at the track 3 times.. I had a full interior, 16" wheels, and a hatch full of stereo equipment. With just an exhuast.. He had an ehxaust for sure, but i'm not sure whatelse.. Anyway, I beat all 3 times.. I was running 15.1s and he was around the 15.3 range. I doesn't say shit for how well he knows how to drive, but if I had traction it would have been a short race.

Everyone knows what I think. Its an awesome swap. Its cheap, its pretty fast in completley stock form, and its totally reliable. Plus you have a nice platform if you wanted to build a 13 second daily driver.

B16rex - What tranny are you using?

Siz - I got the b16 tranny with it. Although I do have question for you. When I raced that guy with the Accord EX with the 85 shot...afterwards we went back and talked at the starting line. He noticed my peel out and said holy shit u have an lsd!! I told him no but he insisted it was because there were two tire marks exactly the same and he said only an lsd could do that. What do you guys think?

I realize B16 tranny, but I was wondering what number. I've got an S1, its possible that you got a Y1 with the LSD.. Go look at your tranny and see if there's a stamp on it that gives you indication as to what tranny you have.

What RPM were you launching at? I might take a while to get used to driving properly.

J1 would be it. Same as my tranny the S1. Its the same gearing as an ITR exactly, but without the LSD.

So no, you probably don't have an LSD unless someone put an aftermarket on in there when the motor was in Japan, but thats doubtful.

I know my a6 could be faster if i turboed it..thought about it but my trans is shot and the a6's rings are shot..rebuild and JE pistons will be spendy. With a b16a I have a better daily driven platform to build on. 3g's is spendy but I dont have time or a place to swap it myself. For the figuriong out if he has a lsd...jack the front tires of the ground...turn the wheels by hand and if both go the same direction you have a lsd if the go opposite you have a open diff or a worn lsd. So a b16a crx should stomp or give a good run on a 94-98 stang then?
