Hopefully someone can help me out with this situation. I have an Alpine V12 MRV-F400 amp and the specs on it is:
Power Output RMS Power(at 12 V, 20 - 20k Hz) Per Channel into 4 W ...................... 40W x 4 (0.08% THD) Per Channel into 2W ......................... 50W x 4 (0.3% THD) Bridged 2 Channel into 4W ........... 100W x 2 (0.3% THD) Dynamic Power(at 14.4V, 20 - 20k Hz) Per Channel into 4 W ...................... 60W x 4 (0.08% THD) Per Channel into 2W ......................... 80W x 4 (0.3% THD) Bridged 2 Channel into 4W ........... 160W x 2 (0.3% THD) Frequency response ..................... 10 Hz to 50 kHz (+0, -1 dB) Signal-to-Noise Ratio .. 100 dBA(referenced to rated power) Input Sensitivity (for rated power) Line Inputs .......................... 200mV-4V (500mV at detent) .................................................. ....................... (1.0V at center) Slew Factor .................................................. .......... Greater than 5 Input impedance .................................................. ......... 10k ohms Speaker Impedance .................................................. ...................... .......................... 4 or 2 ohms (stereo) or 4 ohms (bridged) Dividing Network Frequency and Slope ........... 50 ~ 200 Hz .................................................. .................. 12 dB/ Oct. Slope Power Requirements .............. 11-16V DC (Negative ground) Dimensions(WxHxD) ............................... 9-7/16"x2-1/16"x13" .................................................. .................... (240x53x330mm) Weight............................................ ......................8lb 13 oz.(4.0kg) I have a Toyota Pick-up and I am running my two front speakers to channel 1/2. I have two 10" Punch XLC RFP2410 4oms speakers in tubes, but I don't know the best way to hook those up to the amp. I have been reading about Series and Parallel wiring. If I Series these speakers together, I will only get a 8ohm out of them. If I Parallel these speakers, I will get 2ohm out of them. But it looks like the amp can only handle a bridge to 4ohms. Right now I have them both wired into the 3/4 channel and not bridged. I don't want to go buy an amp or different speakers. What do you suggest I do to get the best performance? You suggestions would be greatly appreciated... Thanks |
