you need to change your spark plugs and thermostat and temperature sensor switch and check the rad sensor in the rad if the wire is broken off

Here is a tip for you:
1994 Ford Probes have an easy OBD retreval process (MECS). By the battery you have a small sqaure plastic box about 1 in. by 1 in. in size. Lift the cap back you will see a pin identification drawing, locate the #ten pin and use a small wire and ground it. Then turn your ing. key to the accessory position, the check engine light will flash the codes to you.
The question I have for you is "Does the light come on right when you start the car, or until you drive it for a few minutes, or does it come on then off from time to time, or does it come on when you step into the gas. These questions may sound funny but I had the same problem with the check engine light deal and it was very easy to fix. When I pulled the codes it told me the O2 sensors needed to be replaced however these cars are very sesitive to how the car is cooled. I found out that a simple $10.99 part (Temp sensor) fixed all the check engine codes and corrected a lot of other systems probs cause by the car not running at the right temp.
Probe's were made with the MECS emmission system and they are tricky.
MECS (Mazda Emmissions Controlled Systems)

I currently have a 1994 ford probe and owned it for 8 years before that I owned a 1989 probe as well. I have worked on them both up and down and learned alot about how they work.

Let me know
Travis

On Your Probe:

Have you tried the wiggle and tap test on you Mass Air Flow sensor?
While the car is at idle take a small wrench and tap the top of the Sensor several times. If the engine starts to stumble and the light comes on then replace the Mass Air Flow Sensor. If nothing happens then take the plug and wiggle it to get the same result.

Let me know what happens

Travis
