Unhappy 1997 Heater core

Have a '97 with warm heat coming out of it. Last night I flushed, and back flushed and spent considerable time hoping to unplug any possible gunk.

I have replaced the thermostat, as well as the flushing. I have purchased a heater core at Schucks for about 40.00

I live in Alaska and now is not the time for this.

I have read numerous articles with some folks saying a couple of hours others saying 8 and a half.

Any useful way of tearing into the heater core on the '97 blazer? I understand there is a way to tilt the dash. I have the chiltons, but read somewhere that you can access some bolts via the glovebox, cutting down the time considerably.

Any experts with sound experienced steps to give before I face the music? One other question, there is no leak or antifreeze whatsoever, could a sensor be a culprit here?

Thnx in advance....

Jerry

Personally I have had no luck tilting the dash..I have found removing it is the easiest and safest way to go.....(explain to mr customer that you scratched their dash to save some time)
Since you already flushed the cooling system, I would say install the heater core.
Once done, keep a close eye on the cooling system level, most of the vehicles I have seen with sludged up cooling systems have been run low for a period of time ( the coolant jug was at the proper level but the radiator was low.)
I have owned or presently own Gm vehicles with dexcool and have not had a problem with cooling systems sludging up.
