Question Tranny Swap Questions.

I’m about to do a Si tranny swap into my ’90 Dx hatch and I have a few questions before doing it. I know that if I get an ’88 or ’89 the number of splines on the input shaft will be different, but I’m getting a new clutch kit anyway. I was wondering if I do not get a 88 or 89 tranny, will I have to get axles which match the year on the transmission? And when getting a new clutch kit, do I get one to match my tranny or my flywheel, I’ve heard the Si fly wheel is different than the Dx. Also, how do I properly identify the transmission. I’ve heard that PL3/3000 is cast into the casing just above the fill plug on the Si models, and that PL3/A000 or A100 denotes the smaller bearing HF, DX, STD tranny. I am unsure if this is correct. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

89-91 tranny input shaft splines are the same.....88 is the odd ball. 88 diff spline count and 89-91 im not so sure of.....if im not mistaked the si and dx flywheels are the same....just different clutch and press plate. dont quote me on that one.....call honda see if they can give you part #'s on 88-91 axles, clutch kit, and flywheel....the part #'s that match are interchangable.
