Revell Kit Quality: Bugatti Eb110

Sometimes i have read that Revell quality is not so good expecialy if compared to Tamiya kits. Yes, perhaps Tamiya is the best, but on its catalogue i see always the same models. Few news for long months... Recently I have started, and sometimes also finished, many revell kits and i must confess that the quality of those kits is really good. Two examples: Lamborghini Diablo (for me the best kit of the Diablo, also better than the Fujimi one...) and first of all the Bugatti EB110; this kit features almost 150 parts, opening hood and trunk, great internal and external details, adjustable rear wing, fine wheels and, at last, rubber tires.
I have made my usual pre-assembling and the general silhouette of the car looks great. Has anybody experienced this model?
sorry for the bad quality of the image!!

Yes, the Revell EB110 has really loads of details. Unfortunately in my kit body parts were so twisted I didn't have the patience to finish it. Also some details and parts have been duplicated so that they are not too easy to assemble. But maybe that just means I've been spoiled by the Japanese manufacturers...

I'll let you know. For now my opinion is that this is a stunning model with lots of details. And appears to be much better than the image shown on the box; also because te modeler that built that kit for Revell seems to have confused the rear with the front wheels... Incredible!!

my mistake. The Bugatti is a Monogram kit, not Revell .

In reality, it's a Revell AG/Revell of Germany kit that was packaged for US consumption and sold under the Monogram brand name. I've got one that I need to build someday. Looks like a very nice kit.

I built that kit some years ago. My skills were much less than they are these days, and it it still came out looking good.

I think the miles of piping in the engine bay were a pain, but it is a very good kit.

Maybe it's time for a resore of mine..

Good luck with it.

Hi Lapo.

I agree, the Monogram EB110 is an incredible kit. The only fault I was able to find with mine was the overabundance of sink marks (especially in the seats).

Re: Revell Kit Quality: Bugatti Eb110

...in any case, if someone wants to see an accurate Work In Progress of this model check this page:
This German guy painted the car in a horrible metallic purple (What a mistake!!!!!), but some images colud be useful for ones who are deciding to buy the kit or not (...jgmodelcars?!?!?...).
Yes i am afraid that my opinion about this model could change once i will have to fight against pipes, air intake system, turbos (It is a quadriturbocharged car!!!) and stuff.... I am already imaging my too big fingers painted and glued with each one of the 149 pieces that feature this kit... NIGHTMARE..
Do you know that also exists an Italeri/Heller kit of this cars? Only 80 pieces, bad body and less detail, they say, but....
You can check them all at
"http://www.slotracinglemans.com/data/list_models.php?carid=66"

I also have the Revell AG kit. It was a while before I even found one for sale, but I was determined not to buy the Heller/Airfix version. The number of pieces and detail amazed me also and I tried to photograph the sprues for people to see a couple of weeks ago, but they just came out all blurred. I guess more practice is needed. The only part in my kit that was warped was the engine cover, though the rear window may help to straighten that out when I glue it in. I will do a thread covering the build when I start it in ernest.

Unhappy Re: Revell Kit Quality: Bugatti Eb110

As suspected, i spent all my last afternoon to fit all the pipes properly...
