My AMT 60' Starliner kitbash.

Well since Im actually looking to build a real 60's style gasser and don't know what body Im going to use I figured that I would do a few different models of my favorite body styles in gasser form to help me decide.

This here is the AMT 1960 Ford Starliner Custom in 1/25 scale.

I did the engine with the kits actual engine block, heads, valve covers.
I used a 10-71 blower from an old MPC gasser Vette kit.

I used the Enderle fuel injection hat and blower belt/pullies from an old Revell Funny Car kit.

I actually painted the car the correct 3 step for the candy apple red. I started with testors grey primer, I then wet sanded and rubbed that out. I then applied testors gold metallic, then Boyds transparent candy apple red for 2 coats. I too wet sanded and rubbed that out as well.

The pics do not do it justice. It looks SLAMMIN'! in person.

What do you think?

Now that would be a ride to frighten the Civics in.

Good work and please get the Ford into some light so we can see the candy better, if you can

Woah thats a beast, your a crazy man to make a gasser out of a Starliner! If your using your favourite 60s body styles does that mean you will make a 67 Chevelle SS gasser and a 67 Stingray gasser? I dont see how anyone couldn't like thos 60s shapes.

Update on the Starliner.

Heres the latest on the Starliner Gasser.

I swapped out the old wheels for a set of Halirand rear wheels and ribbed slicks from the Tony Nancy Dragster. The front wheels are from the AMT 68' Camaro Kit.

Heres the first set of wheels and the lower rear suspension.

Before:

Hers the after shot.

I also added a custom made Parachute bracket along with a labeled Simpson Chute and cord.

I used BMF on the chute and weathered it with some testors flat lack and thinner to simulate clutch dust for that "Used" look.

I also added chrome headlight covers in the low beams and I painted the high beam sockets flat lack.

I also added some KILLER "Moon" style collector sidepipes that are super tucked "Frame Huggers".

I am really pleased with this car now that it is almost done.

Re: Re: My AMT 60' Starliner kitbash.

Thanks for all the kind words. I really should take better pics with a better camera. The paint came out real nice. It's an actual 3 step candy apple red starting with Testors grey primer, Testors metallic Gold, Testors Transparent candy apple red the Testors acrylic clear.
